Long Reach Village Center
The ODC team is back again with another new and exciting development project. With the goal of furthering Jim Rouse's vision for the villages surrounding downtown Columbia , ODC's plan envisions the complete redevelopment of the Long Reach Village Center into a vibrant mix of residential and commercial uses. The focal point of the transformative plan is a village green that will offer a variety of passive & active leisure and entertainment opportunities for Long Reach residents as well as the surrounding community.
The new Long Reach Village Center will include 70 market-rate for-sale town homes, 132 market-rate rental apartments, and 110 affordable senior rental housing units. The 132 market-rate apartments will be in a wrapper building with a podium over 40,000 square feet of retail and commercial space. The building will feature an 870 space parking structure with an innovative Vertical Garden attached. The vertical garden will create jobs and provide local farmers with all season growing space. It will also serve local restaurants and markets to provide them with fresh produce.
Another unique use envisioned for the center is a 20,000 sq. ft. incubator commercial kitchen and co-packaging facility, offering local entrepreneurs the opportunity to expand their food product businesses in a convenient neighborhood.
Located across from the village green will be a Pavilion building offering 17,500 sq. ft. of retail space, 17,500 sq. ft. of office space, and up to 52,500 sq. ft. of community space.
The project is expected to break ground in Spring of 2021.
